Ben (ベン Ben) is a minor character of Genshi Shonen Ryu. He was the son of Chief Amra and his wife Messa.
His long-lost uncle Goro resurfaced after disappearing ten years ago, proclaiming himself to have "power" from the gods. His father was challenged to duel the Smilodon to remain as the Alara tribe's chief, but ultimately lost and was therefore banished from his tribe. His mother was manipulated into serving Goro or else great disaster will befall the tribe. Outraged for what had been done to his father, Ben chose not to believe Goro's "prophecy" and was imprisoned for his defiance, separating him from his parents. He was later rescued by Ryu, who got himself captured in the process. Ryu tried to convince Ben to leave his mother behind, criticizing her for doing nothing to save him. Ben initially refused as he still had faith in his mother, though after Ryu revealed that his father was alive, he agrees to escape together. During their escape, Ryu stayed behind to fight off the guards, giving Ben enough time to escape. Running through the jungle, Ben made it to the White Anthill Shrine where he was finally reunited with his father. Their reunion was short-lived when Ben warned his father that Ryu has been captured and that the Tyranno was heading for the tribe's fort. By the time they had arrived, the Tyranno had already run amok. Despite his father's protest, Ben went against Amra's warning and rushes in to save Ryu. Ben was able to help Ryu escape from the debris, but the Tyranno spotted the two and chased them down to a narrow slit, trapping them. When all hope seems lost, Ben heard his mother's voice, telling both him and Ryu to escape as she distracts the Tyranno. Listening to his mother's words, both Ben and Ryu managed to escape. Unfortunately, his mother wasn't as fortunate as she was knocked away by the Tyranno's powerful tail, sending her crashing into the ground. Ben and Ryu rushed to his mother's side, relieved to find her still alive. Both Ben and Ryu carried his mother to safety and escaped together with his father and the others from the Tyranno. Taking refuge in the jungle, Ben and his father tended to his mother. Calling out for her, his mother awakens and reaches out for Ben. In turn, Ben embraces his mother, happy that their family is finally reunited.
Appearance[]
Ben is a teenage boy with peach skin, dark pupils, and long grey hair. Ben's attire consists of a fur-skin skirt-shaped loincloth with a rope belt, and fur leg bracers.
